Iranian Ambassador Meets Senior Lebanese Officials

BEIRUT Iran's Ambassador to Damascus Hussein Sheikholeslam here Monday night reviewed the latest regional developments with a number of Lebanese senior officials. In separate meetings with Seyed Hassan Nasrullah, Secretary General of the Lebanese Hizbullah Movement, Sheikh Abdul-Amir Qabalan, the Shia Mufti of Lebanon and Nabih Berri, President of Lebanon's National Assembly, various issues were discussed. Following his meetings with the Lebanese officials, Sheikholeslam was asked about the situation in Iran by a number of reporters.
As to the conspiracies being hatched by the United States, he said that the U.S. Congress has allocated some $20 million to create tension in the Islamic Republic of Iran. (IRNA)
